California Extreme was this weekend. It was gloriously fun. My feet are sore from standing around playing games. My backside is sore from playing Propcycle. My hands have slight blisters from the controllers. And did I mention it was fun?
I managed a wider variety of games this year at least. More pinball -- I'm definitely getting better in that area. I played a couple of great games of Robotron 2084. A few games of Tapper, including one of my best ever -- reaching the second round of the third bar.
I had intended to bring the camera and shoot video of Propcycle. Especially the final stage (Solitar) in story mode. You only get one shot at it which makes it difficult to learn where all the balloons are. No continues.
Despite this, I managed to beat Propcycle for my first and second time. The ending's great. They roll credits, show the return of the village to the ground, and have a cutesy bit with the protagonist, his grandparents, and the guy who sends you off at the beginning of the three normal levels.
It was great as usual, though we ended up having an empty bed in our hotel room again because no one else came with us.
That's pretty much it. I really want to get an arcade cocktail table all over again. It takes a slightly lower priority than repairs to the van, but it's definitely something I'm keeping in mind 8)
