I secretly wish I was . . .
Phil

Sometimes you forget why you put up with those other bums in your apartment; then you remember that they're entertaining. You're the only one with a real job, and generally keep the place running technologically.

Which Resident of House Tilde Are You?

Imagine that. 8)

So big news -- I shaved! relsqui took pictures, so the death of my mighty beard is documented thoroughly.

Odd news -- My hair is way longer than I thought. I was walking along to score a free lunch at work and notice a couple funny parts of my shadow. After feeling around with my hand, I realized it was my hair that was giving the vaguely fluke-like shadow. Bizarre. As I was walking to the door for the next building, I realized that I can't feel the bottom of my hair with my hands. That means it's like 1/3 of the way down my thigh. And here I thought it wasn't growing anymore. ha!

Sucky, but better news -- I've been sick the last couple of days. Picked up a nasty, nasty cold. I'm over it for my purposes today though. One fewer strain of rhinovirus I'll have to worry about.

Potentially awesome news -- After looking up stuff about the old Nintendo powergloves, I found VR gloves online for $20 + shipping. I probably ought to have ordered one, but how could one go wrong with two? The link is to that hotbed of USB device suppliers....ikitchen.com!?!?!? Hopefully, they won't suck. They don't seem to. And in any event, how bad could they possibly be? I didn't really just say that!!! 8)

Kinda sad-ish stuff -- a waitress we know was apparently picked up by the cops. Supposedly, we'll see her next in July.

From the GRRR!!! MORONS!!! department -- Another rich guy kills a perfectly good car.

Diego Golberg's pictures of his family over time -- zweeb thinks this is frightening. It's certainly interesting to see the people in the photographs age and how they age.

Additionally, level_head did his level best in finding some really cool links by a very interesting 3D artist. I dropped those in my memories here. Thank you much, Sir!

I think that's pretty much it. Failing anything else, folks -- have a good weekend 8)

Meg & Tera

You're ridiculously cute and have a tendency to run around very fast for no obvious reason, especially in the bathtub. Everyone loves you and your needs are readily provided for--all in all, your life is pretty sweet.

Man, if you're half as fluffy as they are, we're going to get along great when I move up to Seattle whether you like it or not. ; )

Wow... you have thigh-length hair? May I see a picture, please? :)

But of course! It's worth noting that I have natural blond streaks...but most of that blond is me being too lazy to redo my red streaks.

Point of interest -- on the ground in front of me is argus. To my right (behind the cat tree (now if it gets just a little more sunlight this spring...)) is boogeyman.

Very, very nice. (I enjoy long straight-like hair, and color is fun.) (Three separate links there, fyi...)

Re: argus and boogeyman: I spent a good minute looking for evidence of cats in the picture before I realized you were referring to the computers! *grin*

My thanks. I appreciate the strategic advantage it lends me in Aquarius (where the person with the longest hair goes first). Although I've argued a bit about this, I still believe it to be lazier than short hair, despite the slightly increased shower time.

I'd never actually dyed my hair before, short of one time in Junior High when I was curious enough to get my blond then-spots colored to match. No one noticed. The odd dog barked. That was about it. Then lishd visited and that, as they say, was that.

It seems as though you've explored those horizons far more than I have (to excellent effect, I might add).

I'd never really thought of argus and boogeyman as cat names, but perhaps I'm too adjusted to them. It might have cleared things up had I called boogeyman by its alternate name of littlegreenmen. In any event, the kittens are Meg and Tera (and I admit -- I still laugh at my own joke there).

They are, of course, notable for being far cuter and less useful than argus and boogeyman ; )

What's Aquarius?

I found short hair to be infinitely lazier than long, but also infinitely less happy. I really can't describe it, but during the period of time my hair was short, my mood suffered from it drastically. It's also worthy to note that every time I was really depressed, one of the things I'd gasp out during tears was, "I want my hair back!!"

...

It's back to respectable mid-back now. :) And I do have to say, cutting off all of the hair that I absolutely fucking ruined with all that dying was probably a good idea. Heh.

I should've recognized boogeyman as the server name, I'm just used to friends pointing out their pets in pictures. Plus, you used the usericon with the kitten. You know, your default, you damned trickster.

Meg and Tera are good geeky cat names. The best I've heard, though, are SCSI and GUI - spelled out as Scuzzy and Gooey for the mundanes, of course. My two are named Pixel (who came to me named that) and Matrix (who came to me named "Catlyn," which is horrid, so I changed it to something that would match Pixel better and would also match Matrix's own coloring. Heh.)

Aquarius is sort of like dominoes. You have cards which have sections of different elements on them. You play a card on your turn next to an already played card. The card you play must have an element in common with the cards around it and those elements must share a border. First one to seven of their element (dealt at the beginning of the game and kept secret) in a chain wins. The cards are _really_ pretty too 8)

Hair damage is actually the main reason I'd been really hesitant to dye my hair. lishd was able to win me over because she's _really_ good with hair. If she didn't fear other people's heads as much as she does, she'd make a great hairstylist. I'm endlessly nervous about it -- I never blowdry my hair. I never brush my hair -- I prefer instead to comb through it with my fingers and work out knots instead of yanking them out (which makes a great nervous habit/something to do when talking to someone on the phone). Lastly, I try not to fiddle with it over the course of the day. Somewhere in all that, I've managed not to screw it up too much ; )

I have to admit -- I kinda look forward to the day that I decide to shave it all off. I like my hair, but I know I'll like the change.

Cute cats! Every time I see a picture of a cat, I wonder how the heck I managed those years living without a cat. I was intrigued by the "chair fighting" caption. Our kittens used to love fighting on the sofa, squirreling themselves behind it, cuddling in the gap between the sofa and the wall, climbing up the corner and playing king of the hill. Since they've gotten bigger though, they've taken the house as a whole as their venue for crazy antics.

When I left this morning for work, I had to step lightly to avoid accidentally kicking/stepping on one. Even with bells on their collar and the ruckus they make running around and sliding into walls, it's still very much an unknown where exactly they are. 8)

(psst -- what are you looking for in this picture? ; ) )

You know, some of the pictures there on Chilahedron could be submitted to Cats 'n' Racks...

Doubtful. I'll grant I didn't do a second pass shaving, but my facial hair is well beyond the 5 o'clock shadow phase. I think I'm going to shave again, actually.

I don't think they really eat a lot. I'm not confident they sleep for most of the day either. They do lounge for most of the day and chase each other or toys for the remainder (for example, they were just playing with one of those rubber bounce balls).

I suppose I could deal with that assessment, though I don't think you're anywhere near furry enough.
