Strangely testing4l.livejournal.com is worthless...
Life: Work. Eat. Sleep. And if I'm very lucky, I do it in that order.
Richard Dawkins has a brief essay in eSkeptic which raises a question that I've raised to intelligent design believers since I spoke at DAIC -- If you believe something is designed based on its suitability for a task, then wouldn't the intelligent designer display the same suitability, and therefore be declared "designed"?
My original question was phrased somewhat more rigorously as the people I presented it to were interested in the application of information theory to their ends, but the point comes through quite nicely.
now I understand ..
I just saw the episode from which your LJ picture was taken ..

I had never seen firefly before .. and since sci fi is running it all week I thought I would look for what all the fuss is about ..

These things are always a joy for me, but what exactly is a meme?
meme is a work coined by (coincidentally) Richard Dawkins in his book The Selfish Gene
. Wikipedia has this
to say. Effectively it's something which people pick up and imitate. In doing so, they spread it around and ensure its survival.
