Richard Dawkins has a brief essay in eSkeptic which raises a question that I've raised to intelligent design believers since I spoke at DAIC -- If you believe something is designed based on its suitability for a task, then wouldn't the intelligent designer display the same suitability, and therefore be declared "designed"?
My original question was phrased somewhat more rigorously as the people I presented it to were interested in the application of information theory to their ends, but the point comes through quite nicely.
