|10:42 am - No news is good news!|
My time thus far seems like it's been spent reading Don't Panic and The Bradbury Chronicles. Not that I'm complaining or anything about this new job. Just saying...
A friend of mine who was in non-zero part responsible for putting the originals together pointed me at these lovely boxen. I hate to admit it, but there's two parts of me at play here. One wonders what the hell I'd do with it. The other is doing it's damndest to convince me that it doesn't matter! They're cool!
For once in my life (with the realization of getting an extra paycheck this month), I feel like I've hit the breakeven point with a positive derivative. Maybe Douglas Adams was wrong about little green pieces of paper.
By the by, if you haven't read Don't Panic...Do. Go get it. Now. You will enjoy it. Especially the line: "It's like a pub, but smaller."
I'm getting an officemate today, so I've been busy printing out things to decorate the office with. If "The Story of Mel" doesn't scare him, I'll know he's a good egg.

I have fond memories of being able to read entire novels during my night shift - 3 calls in an 8 hour period. ^_^
Funny, those are the only fond memories I have of that place - the job where you spend all your time trying to avoid doing your job.

God damn it, I need a job like that. *g*
I'm not actually trying to avoid doing my job. I'm just not looking too hard for my job. Mostly because my project manager is content to have me log hours of nothingness because of his disorganization.
Get online! I have ideas for the SPARC boxen!
