Crying shame, I loved those last 4 digits...
I haven't been very thoughtful of late, hence the drought of posts. Most of my time has been spent trying to hold onto my job. My boss threatened to fire me a couple of weeks back and I'm on 'probation' at the moment.
It's up in the air right now, but I'm indifferent to what happens. Worst comes to worse, I have to find another job. At the moment, my job has been thankless, stressful, and involving long hours for little to no reason.
Also, where certain co-workers don't believe that vi is inherently a waste of company time vs. emacs.
I think I'm going to end up keeping it through this phase, but I intend to begin looking for jobs where:
1) I get recognition for my hard work every so often.
2) I'm doing work which affects peoples lives instead of creating products which make us money and forgotten in a few years, and
3) I receive a salary closer to what I'm worth.
I'm again really pushing for GlitZ to take off. That means writing my own ticket effectively. Creating games is far more rewarding than web applications for a very specialized group of people. Most of the code I've written has been uninspired standard algorithms of late.
