Various answers to all of life's problems.
I maintain that most any problem can be solved by the establishment of personal, sustainable space travel.
Good news: We still do game nights in Santa Clara!
Bad news: the three or so people who made the jump from Santa Cruz are all out of town and I haven't managed to get anyone else interested.
So: I'll totally show and I'll definitely get at least one other person to come this week if you'll show.
I live by santa clara, so i can come, but I'm often out of town for a couple days at a time so I just need to know what night it is.
Tuesday nights at 8pm. 8)
Oh tomorrow night? Ok sure I can be there. Give me the address and I will show up!
You can't cross the streams, but you can cross social media
! Out of curiousity, how did you hear of it?
We've been meeting at the Denny's at 1745 El Camino Real in Santa Clara.
It's not great food. It's not even good food. I don't even really like the staff there. But it's one of the only places I know of which stays open past 11 PM and some of the very best game nights we've had ended when the sun came up again.
Well I won't be staying past 11 because I have WOORRK but I think that 3 hours is good for me. I joined the facebook group. I found this info through the UCSC chatter community because I've heard of this group back when I was a student but I never got around to going. Also, maybe you should think of relocating to carrows if you hate dennys so much? At least the food is a little better lol.
It's hard to believe I used to keep it up while it was still down in Santa Cruz. I'd drive down from Fremont, get there at 8, play until "I refuse to look at a clock because I know it's way, way, way past my bedtime", drive back to Fremont, and then crawl out of bed the next morning for work.
Santa Clara's been a really nice change in that respect for me. 8)
Anyway, Carrows would be decent, but they close at 11pm, so they're not really an option for the same reason. We considered IHOP too, but there's only one IHOP which stays open late (the one on Great America) and the manager there is a grade-A jerk.
Before it moved up to Santa Clara, we were having game night at the Denny's on Ocean in Santa Cruz and that Denny's was actually decent. I'm not sure why the one here is so bad.
Oh I think the Carrows in West San Jose right by where I live is open all night. It's not so far from Santa Clara so maybe that's an option. But whatever, as long as Dennys doesn't kick you guys out it sucks that more stuff isn't kept open late D:.
I'll give them a call sometime. That'd be pretty sweet.
BTW -- there's two ways to recognize us. Probably the easiest way is that I'm wearing a black & gray checkered hat. The next easiest way is the Escher ball which we put on the table. It looks like this:
And, oh yeah, we'll probably
be playing games 8D
Ok cool I'm looking forward to it : D
