I discovered Letter from America about 2 years ago and I've made an effort not to miss it since. About a year ago, I wrote a script which would bring up the new letter from america for each week. Having been automated, it was always a pleasant surprise to have a realplayer window open in the corner of my screen and starting off with his distinctive "Good evening".
The show was a continuing sort of talk which would start from something fairly innocuous. Usually a memory of his from a while ago and it would ramble onward to something rather relevant along the way. I never saw what he was going for, but it always made sense at the end. Apparently, he never took notes during the week, nor did he decide what he was going to talk about until he wrote his script.
I shall greatly miss this part of my Monday
Here's the site. I encourage you to listen to some of the broadcasts.
