Probably the funniest part about the whole thing was after I told him it was a 4/1 joke. Apparently Becky (his gf) warned him about me 8)
So I'm sitting here playing with Boogeyman. I've decided I'm going to make it the biggest bad ass server in the history of man.
It's a quad P2 500. It has a SCSI disk and a RAID attached to a DAC960.
So the plan is to make a teensy /boot partition and use LVM with the remaining bit of the SCSI disk and the RAID. I'm going to go the whole nine yards and boot out of an initrd.
A very large part of me is protesting it, but LVM is really the only logical way to do what I want to do. I don't want the drives to turn into symlink farms and it's unacceptable to use less than 100% of the system. The only way to spread the space around is, therefore, LVM.
In the meantime, I'm wondering what's going on with my job. That'll figure itself out one way or another though.
