A wider angle:
Now compare it with this one:
This was sitting in front of the Bazylika św. Krzyża w Warszawie (Holy Cross Church of Warsaw) on Krakowskie Przedmiescie near the old town.

ugh where the fuck are you hosting these that they load this fucking slow?
b. It's not so much that images load slow as they're frickin' huge and I haven't been non-lazy enough to run an imagemagick script on them to make them load quickly.
I guess I'll go ahead and do that now 8)

i hate guis. i would've known that from LYNX. thpt.
I'm going to save lishd
some trouble here.uniheliodem
: You likely know more about programming than lishd
. You are probably a more effective sysadmin. You are not more 1337 than lishd
. The only reason she's ever used a GUI was a bizarre addiction to tangrams.
Also, you're being pretty stupid wrt. lynx. Lynx -dump is the center of many of my best scripts. It does things fine and in some cases better thwn the other methods that you enumerated to hold a ruler up to your geek cock.

well, i use x regularly for image editing. oh, & viewing my pdf paystubs since pdftotext won't read those properly. but that's still about it. :D
I'm shocked. I thought you did image editing by converting it to aa, fixing it, and backporting it.

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I DO
but i use an xterm to do it?
Yeah, but it's a fullscreen xterm because the framebuffer doesn't get a high enough resolution unless you hacked in DRI extensions for uvesafb which you refuse to do because it'd be insecure.

your mom's low on the list.
i'll still fuck her though.

oh, i didn't mean i'd use my body.
Oh yeah, because CGI is *exactly* the way you want to handle pages. You wouldn't want to ever feed text to a bash script without the HTML tags.
links is a bigger step back in that regard. They've only just started adding features so that you could *kinda* use it for parsing HTML.
Also, keystrokes in lynx >> either w3m or links. I can only assume that you've just never used lynx. You probably use something terribly bloated.
It's not web scripting. It's scripting that uses output from a web page. Snag!
-- a utility of mine from a long while ago uses it extensively to crawl web pages and download with a granularity and specificity much finer than other utils I've seen out there.Bloated is a relative term, well, unless you also still have the physical memory of a 1994 machine. Then, every piece of modern software is bloated.
Man went to the moon on 32k of core rope memory. If you're not doing something equally as neat in that space (or more), you're writing bloatware.I was just voicing my own personal dislike of that browser. I wasn't trying to start a holy war.
Sorry -- I have a great dislike for opinions based on incorrect data. I pursue them aggressively. You may have noticed this in our other thread.
(Which, by the way, I'm still waiting for your actual case law quotations. Your comparison of Woo Wai v. United States makes me wonder if you've actually read that case or if you're trying to fake it by surfing wikipedia)
Yeah -- be sure to wake me up when you maintain an ASCII chart.

actually, what you did there was kind of clever. :D

lynx is my primary browser. i find it more user-friendly than anything else.
BESIDES 1994 IS SEXY, THAT'S WHEN I FOUND THE INTERNETS.

actually, i DID use gopher. i downloaded lyrics with it often. :D
Dude -- why is it that whenever I write something that you comment in, the comment numbers end up becoming exponentially higher than like any of my other posts?
I mean -- seriously. Buddy Christ is NOT that interesting, but if you went by the size of the comment thread, then this is like more compelling than a TV station dedicated to following people on the freeway with loose exhaust manifolds.

i'm the most interesting & sexy person you know.
What do GUIs have to do with anything? ImageMagick is CLI based.

no, it had to do with my not realizing you had inline resized images. i'd know that with lynx 'cause i'd see a bigassed image downloading.
i use "convert -resize" in a lot of scripts.
Incidentally, I expect it's much better now that I've reduced the images to 1/4 the size.
One of these days, I need to hack tc to only throttle bulk traffic when under contention. Until then, slow web and scp is well worth fast irssi, IM, and the like.
