Game night was awesome last night. The hours melted by without notice until someone foolishly looked at their watch. Three games of Fluxx (2 short, 1 interminable) and two games of Aquarius (in 3 teams of 2) were played and they worked out quite nicely. It consisted almost entirely of new faces.

Aquarius is a really fun game to play with new people because they don't understand the subtleties. They start off playing and figure that you play to benefit your goal and try to block other peoples' goals. So, as a result, they get really confused when you start playing with other goals and building them up,

Another fun move: I figured the team after me had either ether or air. Air had a string of five built up and they were in a pretty good position. Knowing this (and that my teammate had a trade goal), I played a card on air making it five. The team after me played on air (confirming that they, in fact, were air). The third team in all this was just stunned. They figured I didn't have air, so they had no idea why I did it. They made some half hearted attempt to block air, then my teammate played trade goals.

We actually ended up not winning, despite that awesome move.

Most entertaining line of the evening: "Have fun with that, sugartits!" And I'll have you know that I didn't say it!
