If you drive a hybrid, your genes are waving the white flag.
With apologies to hybrid owners I know. 8)
EDIT: Somehow, I accidentally posted this as the link about hybrids.
It's an interesting article about Iraq's counterinsurgency with respect to Algeria, but definitely not what I meant to post 8)
Riiiight. d :
And what does that article have to do with hybrid cars, exactly? (Laugh all you want, but I still like saving gas $$.)

Well -- it turns out that you aren't really. Consider that at best, mechanical -> electrical conversions are 30% efficient. Now think of that electrical motor siphoning off all that power from that teeny little engine.
A diesel on the other hand will make it from London to Edinburgh and back on a single, reasonably sized tank of gas.
All the regenerative braking in the world -- the only real advantage of the Prius won't do that for you.
There are articles about Hummers (THAT'S A CAPITAL H, YOU PERV!) being better for the environment than Priuses, of course. They skew facts somewhat, but it's a good point.
Honestly, I can't imagine why anyone would buy a Prius -- and I've been saying that since they came out!
I only JUST noticed that I pasted the wrong article! Whoops! 8)

you just made me want a prius that much more...
You know the disadvantages. And you know the penalty for Prius ownership.
