Fashionable, but unable to tell fact from fiction

So, I finally got 'round to figuring out fuel efficiency on my MR2. I've been keeping a log book. The book was thoughtfully left there by a previous owner (from when it had a different license plate) in '91 and kept it going until 2000. She apparently did some towing with it and kept track of when the AC was on and when it wasn't. She even went so far as to write down the locations of the gas stations -- something I haven't bothered with. She did a fair amount of travelling as far North as Washington and as far South as Arizona, spending most of her time around Sacramento. There's another entry on 11/30 in different handwriting. There was nothing else after I received it. Gas mileage at its worst was 19.72 mpg. That was about a month after I bought it. The best was 32.17 mpg on 87 gas -- I normally keep 91 in the tank, but relsqui and I were apparently in low spending mode.

It's interesting to note the difference between the first half of the gas mileage (with my previous employer) and the second half (with my current employer). It averaged about 23mpg before, but of late it's been averaging about 29mpg. I suspect that there's two factors at work here: amount of highway driving and how often I floored the gas pedal. While I was still figuring out the car, I used to do a lot more of that.

I do so love my car. 8)
