Hopefully everyone had a good thanksgiving. We spent ours in Berkeley with relsqui's dad & sister.

I've been enjoying the long weekend. My sleep cycle is way out of whack (I'm about to go to sleep right now). I miss having days like this, really.

The PS2 prompted us to get the TV setup, so it sits in our room on the adjacent wall to the computers.

And, lest anyone doubted it, we now have objective proof that our kittens are awesome. While we were playing Duck Hunt just now, Meg swatted at the screen 2x. No -- she wasn't going after the duck. She was going after the dog 8)

Good kitties, them is!

Whereas my kitten is going after the actual dog, and biting him on the ass just as he's getting ready to fall asleep. Poor dog.

Glad you guys had a good thanksgiving...and I'm working on the whole out-of-whack sleep cycle myself (as if posting this at four in the morning wasn't enough hint of that). See you guys next Wednesday?

I bet... if nintendo released a version of Duck Hunt that was identical to the original, except that you could shoot that damned dog if he laughed at you... they would make a fortune.

From wikipedia:

...although it is possible to shoot the dog in the bonus round of the arcade version of the game, Vs. Duck Hunt.[3] However, players will get no bonus points if they do. There is also a fan-made Macromedia Flash remake of the game that features the ability to shoot the dog. [4] The nameless dog makes a cameo in the NES game Barker Bill's Trick Shooting (another a Zapper game) and he can be shot.[5]

It would appear they had that idea -- and put it in the arcade version to encourage extra quarters. 8)
