Happy birthday philled2thebrim!!!! Kind of bad timing. =/

To those not in the know, I've been running a game night in Santa Cruz for very nearly the past two years. Unfortunately, the restaurant which has hosted game night closed a couple of nights ago and has left us floating.

Had we had game night last night, we could've celebrated Square's birthday (as we've come to know him). Alas!

Happy Birthday!! Sorry we couldn't celebrate it last night. IOU a coffee (or beverage of choice) downtown sometime in the next week. Just name the date!

Showers Square with a confetti of Pez (which are said to resurrect spectres)! Have a good one.

You know, you COULD temporarily move the game night to Denny's...sure they suck, but they're open 24-7 at least. SC Diner might also be open that late...can't remember.

Ahh, you missed Jeffrey's in your assement. relsqui and I have been pondering this.

Jeffry's has a generally intolerant staff. We were nearly kicked out of there for playing Egyptian Rat Screw one evening. We were the only customers in the place. Also, I believe the seating is all booths, so you can't merely pull tables together.

Santa Cruz Diner has three negatives. One is that the seating is all booths. The other is that the service has been awful there in our experience. Lastly, we have no idea how they'll react 8)

Denny's is probably a pretty safe bet. I've set foot in there twice in around five years. It is, I think, the worst food option of any of the four pretty easily. They might have tables in there which would make it a viable option. They're probably shell shocked enough to let us have run of the place. The only other downside is that it's off the beaten path, so it would be difficult to get to by bus (for anyone at the university).

So I guess the thing to do is to call up a manager, tell them we're loud and of unpredictable size (from 2 to 25 with a high frequency in the 6 to 10 person range), show up late and stay late, and ask if they'd be willing to accept us.

Are you up for it?
