So at about 10pm yesterday, I talked myself out of going to see the launch. I figured that CNN would have better coverage (from the chase planes and so on).

Their coverage was +5 Coverage of Ass-Suckery. They didn't show the rocket boost. Just takeoff and landing.

Incidentally, they made it. I imagine an attempt for the X Prize (2 trips in a week, IIRC) will come around soon.

I only got to see it on the cnn web site .. as they were over run by the international sports coverage of the euro match here in teh uk ..
i really hate sports for just aboout that reason exactly ..
seems as a geek i have been combating the overshadowing of sports for as many years as i can remember ..
but they did it .. ( wont mention that it was funded by microsoft money.. )

Whoo hoo .. we are off to space yet !

Being a non-sports fan for all but one and a half months a year, I can sympathize.

Of course, I would have preferred that the launch tromped over the Stanley Cup Finals (hockey) which is the only time that I give the slightest inclination to any particular sport.

It's a two seater. Under normal conditions, I'd say you could have the seat next to me. However, I think you'll understand when I say that seat's reserved for relsqui ; )
